Start with a specific page
“The store is slow” describes a symptom, not its cause. Select several specific areas: a main category, a product, search and the cart. Record the device, connection and situation in which the slowdown occurs.
One homepage measurement on a fast computer is not enough to assess shopping on a phone. Equally, a single slow load does not necessarily reflect normal performance. Compare repeated measurements under similar conditions.
Separate server and browser issues
A long wait for the server's response needs different diagnostics from slow loading of large images or heavy browser scripts. In the first case, a technician needs to investigate server-side code, the database, modules and hosting. In the second, the focus is transferred file sizes and page behaviour.
PageSpeed Insights provides useful input. Treat the result as a basis for further investigation, rather than a list of changes to apply automatically. Lab tests and real visitor data describe different conditions.
Check images, modules and scripts
For images, check whether small previews download unnecessarily large files. For modules, establish which are needed, what they load and whether the slowdown began after a change. For external scripts, clarify their business or measurement purpose.
Do not disable payment, shipping or tracking add-ons in bulk on a live store. Compare each change with its expected impact and test in an appropriate environment. If tracking disappears, fewer requests alone do not mean the problem has been fixed properly.
Configure caching for your installation
Performance settings depend on the system version, theme, hosting and add-ons. Copying a generic checklist of switches risks affecting cart contents, login or other dynamic features.
The official PrestaShop optimisation documentation provides a technical overview. Before changing anything, preserve the original configuration and agree on how to verify results and restore the previous setup if needed.
Test checkout again after changes
Compare the same pages under the same conditions as before. Go through the product, variants, shipping, payment and order creation. Check mobile controls. Faster loading must not come at the expense of a working checkout.
The output should list completed changes and compare measurements. A technical score alone does not establish a particular increase in orders. Commercial evaluation needs additional data and a sufficient observation period.
How to request optimisation
Send links to slow pages, examples of affected situations and the latest known changes. Our PrestaShop optimisation service takes these as its starting point. If measurements indicate a larger intervention, we will prepare a separate development brief.
The customer journey, content and marketing campaigns are also handled through Blue System. Technical assessment and marketing evaluation each retain their own objectives.
